AI's problem isn't technical. It's operational.

Thousands of hours lost every month to processes nobody designed. To decisions that live in two people's heads. To makeshift tools that multiplied until nobody knows any more where one ends and the next begins.

Portuguese service businesses aren't held back by a lack of talent. They're held back by a lack of structure. And every new tool, every rushed automation, every AI agent bought too soon pulls the knot tighter.

Then came Artificial Intelligence. And with it, the shortcut. Automate without understanding. Install without deciding. Scale without structuring. Call it transformation when it is, in the end, chaos sped up by code.

That is not the way.

We believe in the opposite. Structure before technology. Decision before investment. Execution without disruption. Operational excellence can't be bought. It's built, with rigour, with method, with time.

That's why, before any AI tool, we map the operation. We standardise the processes. We decide with you what is worth automating and what isn't.

The name

Why Agens.

Agens, from the Latin for “agent”, means the one who sparks action, movement and transformation.

Just as in any organisation's teams, the real agents of change are people. Our mission is to free up professionals' time, automate what slows down the day to day, and give teams back the work that lets them grow the business.

Our visual identity carries that same ambition. The colours burgundy and beige evoke the spirit of the Roman Empire, a symbol of vision and innovation. They convey distinction, excellence and rigour.

Engineering rigour

The team has its roots in Industrial Engineering and Management. We apply rigorous process-mapping methods before any technology decision. Nothing is left to guesswork.

Decision before execution

Before a single euro goes into AI, every critical decision has been made. What goes in now, what waits until later, what never makes sense to automate. Confusion is risk.

Execution without disruption

Implementation is phased, reversible and adaptable. It doesn't stop your business. It creates no lock-in. We carry on for as long as it makes sense.

Every project has a direct lead from the Agens leadership team. We don't work through middle-layer account managers.

Chief Technology Officer

With a Master's in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Aveiro (2024), he already has experience automating processes in Portuguese SMEs. As CTO, he is responsible for developing technology solutions tailored to your business that save you time and cut costs.

Daniel da Costa

Chief Executive Officer

With training in Marketing and Artificial Intelligence, as well as a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, he has extensive experience optimising processes and operations in marketing and the textile industry. As a consultant, he pinpoints the main bottlenecks in your business and puts forward concrete, secure solutions that fit your context.

João Ferreira

Chief Operating Officer

A Master's student in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Aveiro with a long record of leading non-profit associations, he has a passion for optimising processes and adapting to new business contexts. As COO, he structures operations, keeps the work aligned with the client's needs and coordinates the rollout of solutions.
